Trained in composition at Tokyo National University of Fine Arts and Music and holding a master’s degree in piano performance from The Juilliard School, Eguchi has performed worldwide as a soloist and collaborative pianist. He has recorded for major labels including Deutsche Grammophon and Philips, worked extensively with leading soloists, and has served on the faculties of Tokyo National University of Fine Arts and Music and CUNY Brooklyn College.
