María del Carmen Grilo Mateos began performing publicly as a child and joined a professional company in the late 1990s, touring in Europe, Japan, Mexico, and the United States. She has won multiple prizes for saeta performance and has appeared at major festivals and concert halls, including a 2023 engagement in Los Angeles. Grilo continues an active solo and collaborative performance career.
