Elim Chan is a Hong Kong–born conductor who studied at Smith College and the University of Michigan. She was the first female winner of the Donatella Flick Conducting Competition (2014), served as Assistant Conductor of the London Symphony Orchestra (2015/16), and was Principal Conductor of the Antwerp Symphony Orchestra from 2019–2024. In May 2026 she was named Music Director Designate of the San Francisco Symphony, to assume the music director post in the 2027–28 season.
