John Hollenbeck is an American composer, drummer, and bandleader who founded The Claudia Quintet and leads the John Hollenbeck Large Ensemble. His large-ensemble recordings have earned multiple Grammy Award nominations, and he has held teaching posts at the Jazz Institute Berlin and McGill University's Schulich School of Music; he has also received honors including a Guggenheim Fellowship and the Doris Duke Performing Artist Award.
