Paul Vincent Collins (born 1956) co-founded the influential power-pop trio The Nerves and later formed and led Paul Collins' Beat. His early band’s recording of material from that scene helped spawn wider recognition (including Blondie’s hit cover of "Hanging on the Telephone"), and Paul Collins' Beat appeared on American Bandstand and contributed music to the Caddyshack soundtrack. Collins founded the DIY booking network The Beat Army, has released solo and Beat albums worldwide, and continues to tour extensively in Europe, Japan and the U.S.
