Ryan Sawyer is a New York–based percussionist and composer active in experimental, improvised and underground music scenes. He moved to New York in the late 1990s to pursue improvised music, played on a notable punk band's early LP as a teenager, and has since released percussion-led solo recordings (including a 2020 solo album) while composing for dance and performing in large experimental ensembles.
