The Sex Pistols formed in London in 1975 and released the seminal album Never Mind the Bollocks, Here's the Sex Pistols (1977), becoming a defining voice of the UK punk movement; core members Steve Jones, Paul Cook and Glen Matlock have continued performing in various reunion lineups. Frank Carter rose to prominence as frontman of Gallows before forming Frank Carter & the Rattlesnakes in 2015, releasing several critically praised albums and gaining a reputation for ferocious live shows; in 2024 Carter began performing with members of the Sex Pistols for special shows and tours.
