South Central Skankers

South Central Skankers, also known as SCS, is a nine-piece ska rock band from Los Angeles. Formed in 2002, SCS has created a sound that cannot be ignored by combining their take on genres such as ska, Latin, reggae, punk and metal. Their unique and upbeat sound attracts people of all ages and from all walks of life. With a five-piece “hornchestra”, furious bass lines, and heavy drumming all woven together with infectious guitar riffs and soul-bending vocals, SCS have managed to define their own sound which they refer to as “Ghetto Ska.”In 2009, the group released their first LP, “Welcome to Lost Angeles,” opening doors to an impressive following and a string of successful show dates, contributing to an extensive touring history throughout the US and Mexico. After a long period of touring and a few singles in-between, South Central Skankers released their second full-length LP, “Insomnia” in 2013. Building from the momentum of their 2018 EP“Once Upon a Time,” the South Central Skankers are evolving their sound while continuing to deliver the same shotgun horn lines and rip-rioting yet cleverly melodies. ------- South Central Skankers, conocidos como SCS, es una banda angelina de ska rock de nueve piezas. Formada en 2002, SCS ha creado un sonido que no puede ser ignorado, combinando su perspectiva sobre géneros como ska, latin, reggae, punk y metal. Su sonido único y optimista atrae a personas de todas edades y caminos de vida. Con una "hornchestra", rasgueos de guitarra furiosos y tambores entrelazados con voces, la banda ha logrado su propio sonido que ello les llama "Ghetto Ska." En 2009, el grupo lanzó su primer LP, Welcome to Lost Angeles, abriendo puertas a un seguimiento impresionante y una serie de conciertos exitosos, contribuyendo a una extensa historia de giras por todo los Estados Unidos y México. Después de un largo período de giras, South Central Skankers lanzó su segundo LP Insomnia en 2013.
