Tesla emerged in the 1980s and achieved mainstream success with albums like Mechanical Resonance (1986) and The Great Radio Controversy (1989), selling millions of records and remaining an active touring and recording act. Extreme formed in Boston in 1985, reached its commercial peak with the 1990 album Pornograffitti and the No.1 single "More Than Words," and continues to perform with noted guitarist Nuno Bettencourt and vocalist Gary Cherone.
