Formed around 2020, The Neighborhood Kids are a San Diego-based hip-hop collective fronted by rappers Amon the MC and Verde with DJ JG and rotating instrumentalists. Their 2023 track "Kids in the Cages" (from the EP Every Child Left Behind) went viral and led to high-profile exposure, including being invited by Tom Morello to open the Defend L.A. benefit at the Echoplex. They release music independently via Bandcamp/SoundCloud/streaming platforms and maintain active social channels.
