Sergio Mendes is a Brazilian pianist and bandleader who formed the influential group Brasil ’66 in the mid-1960s and brought Brazilian popular music to international audiences with crossover hits such as "Mas Que Nada." He was a three-time Grammy Award winner and Oscar?nominated songwriter, and his longtime collaborators (including his wife Gracinha Leporace) now perform his repertoire as The Sergio Mendes Band on international tours.
