William Parker (born 1952) is an American bassist, composer, multi-instrumentalist, poet and educator who has been a central figure in New York’s creative music scene since the early 1970s; he has recorded over 250 albums and founded the Little Huey Creative Music Orchestra. He has composed for symphony and multimedia works and received the Doris Duke Performing Artist Award (2013) and the Vision Festival Lifetime Achievement Award (2024).
