About
Founder and co-artistic director of the experimental opera company The Industry, Yuval Sharon is known for large-scale, site-specific and boundary-pushing opera productions. He received a MacArthur Fellowship (2017), was the first American director invited to Bayreuth (Lohengrin, 2018), and has served as artistic director of Detroit Opera. He made his Metropolitan Opera debut in 2026 and has been announced to lead a Ring cycle beginning in the 2027–28 season.
