For more than fifty years, David Murray has shaped the sound of modern jazz: bold, inventive, rooted in tradition while constantly pushing boundaries. He is opening a new chapter with his current quartet featuring vocalist/lyricist Francesca Cinelli, with Marta Sanchez (piano), Luke Stewart (double bass), and Russell Carter (drums). His album Francesca (Intakt Records, 2024) confirmed that Murray is the new tenor of the time.
