Formed in 1966 by blues enthusiasts and record collectors Alan “Blind Owl” Wilson and Bob “The Bear” Hite, Canned Heat became one of the most influential blues-rock bands of all time. Known for timeless hits including “On the Road Again,” “Going Up the Country,” and “Let’s Work Together,” the band helped bring traditional blues to a worldwide audience while earning legendary status through unforgettable performances at both the Monterey Pop Festival and the original Woodstock.
Throughout their storied career, Canned Heat collaborated with blues icons such as John Lee Hooker, Little Richard, and John Mayall, while also helping revive the careers of several legendary blues artists. More than five decades later, the band continues to tour the world, carrying on its rich musical legacy under the leadership of longtime drummer Adolfo “Fito” de la Parra, joined by an accomplished lineup featuring Dale Spalding, Rick Reed, and Jimmy Vivino. With over 40 albums and an enduring influence on blues and rock music, Canned Heat remains a powerhouse live act.
