Emmy Award-winning journalist Yolanda Nava shares the personal journey behind her memoir, Through the Dark, a deeply moving and inspiring story of self-discovery, resilience, and survival. Nava recounts her experience of suddenly losing her sight due to an undiagnosed autoimmune disease that nearly claimed her life—and the journey that followed. Guest speaker, Yolanda Nava. Her memoir, Through the Dark, chronicles her journey through sudden blindness, earning multiple International Latino Book Awards, while her bestseller It’s All in the Frijoles celebrates Latino culture and received recognition as Best Self-Help Book from the Latino Literary Hall of Fame.
